Experts can deliver value simply by providing information that isn’t readily available elsewhere. But since most people aren’t experts in the field they’re blogging about, they need to deliver the content in a unique way.

A moderate and uncontroversial style is the kiss of death for bloggers who aren’t experts in the field. Whether people love your style or hate it, the important thing is that they feel strongly. The same goes for your opinions. If you don’t have unique content, and you can’t engage your visitor’s emotions (whether positive or negative), you’re not delivering value and you’re dead.
